We do not accept tips

WE DO NOT ACCEPT TIPS.

Ok, that said (in all CAPS), now I can relax, breath, and explain why Rollin’ Gelato does not accept tips.

Here is our reasoning for not accepting tips:

  1. The customer shouldn’t have to be DIRECTLY responsible for paying the living of the employees of a company (in this case, the company is Rollin’ Gelato, Inc).
  2. The baseline service level for all Rollin’ Gelato employees should be of high quality; the service level shouldn’t change based upon how much a Rollin’ Gelato customer is willing to pay Rollin’ Gelato
  3. All customers should be treated equally GREAT because they walked in the door of Rollin’ Gelato (not because they paid more to an individual serving them)
  4. Tips take away from a frictionless experience for the customer; customers can focus on the experience and the product as opposed to worrying about keeping the Rollin’ Gelato staff happy

If an employee is not providing high quality, Rollin’ Gelato management and ownership should work to train the person to be better. If that person doesn’t get to a level of high quality, then that person should not be working with Rollin’ Gelato — i.e. they should move onto another company.

In the end, thank you for thinking of us when thinking about tipping.  However, if you are so inclined to spend more money, you can show your appreciation to the Rollin’ Gelato team by purchasing more gelato.
