This past weekend was our first days in the Austin market selling the RG gelatos and sorbets. We took our time coming to the market. After getting the necessary health permits from the Austin / Travis County health departments, we are now testing the market to see if our flavors are enjoyable by Austin patrons.
We have the 1970 VW Bus, Strawberry, ready for food trucking, but didn’t bring it to the markets last week. The SoCo Market had a full slate of booths and thus the truck wouldn’t fit. And we don’t bring a food truck to the Mueller market, as they only allow booths.
This past Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, we were at the following farmers’ markets:
- Friday, March 9th: SoCo Farmers’ Market (11am – 5pm) — daily market fee: $45
- Saturday, March 10th: SoCo Farmers’ Market (11am – 5pm) — daily market fee: $45
- Sunday, March 11th: Texas Farmers’ Market at Mueller (10am – 2pm) — daily market fee: $50
The flavors that we brought the market were our staple flavor:
- Chocolate Gelato (for this batch we used chocolate from Srsly Chocolate)
- Lemon Gelato
- Pistachio Gelato
….and our seasonal / local flavors:
- Krishna Spiced Tea Gelato (uses tea from Lost Pines Yaupon Tea)
- Honey-Pecan Praline Gelato (uses honey from Round Rock honey, and pecans from Berdoll Pecan Farm)
- Coffee-Rum Gelato (uses coffee from Greater Goods Coffee, and rum from Treaty Oak Distillery)
